100% agree, and I work in technology for a living! It's just all too much, too impersonal and even worse, when the tech malfunctions (which it always does)... who do you turn to for help? AI? It's maddening. Nope, we prefer real people to take your order and deliver your food, real paper menus you can hold in your hand, and we don't even have TV's in our place, which people compliment us on all the time. People WANT to connect.
I don't think the green eye shades understand humans. I can go anywhere for a drink or food. It's the people that make the difference. A vodka 7, bottled or canned beer I can get thay anywhere. It's the people serving that keep me coming back not the screen. It's the interaction that makes or breaks places.
Amen. I am not a fan of templated breweries, looking the same, with a generic presentation and feel, with the same lineup (of IPAs, a fruited quick sour or two, blonde ale and mexican lager and perhaps a dark beer).
Don't get me wrong, they are better here than gone, but I don't think we're advancing the cause and the spirit of craft beer by cloning each other.
